Smart Works Founder honoured with OBE
We are thrilled to share the news that our founder and Honorary President, Juliet Hughes-Hallett has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours in recognition of services to unemployed women.
Jules founded Smart Works in 2013, driven by a vision for tackling the difficulties women face in the workplace, and a deep understanding of the difference that fashion and coaching can have on women’s lives. Her passion for our service, our volunteers and above all our clients inspired our growth, taking us from one centre in London to 8 centres around the UK, helping over 4000 women each year. Throughout that time, Jules has always brought her inimitable style, a strategic focus and bravery in the face of major decisions and above all, an energy and sense of fun that inspires and empowers everyone around her.
After leading the charity through the pandemic, Jules stepped back in 2021, staying on as a volunteer dresser, and continuing to champion our work as Founder and Honorary President. Her legacy could not be more profound. The need for our service has never been more pronounced, and we will double in size by 2025, helping over 10,000 women and ensuring that at least 65% go on to get the job. Thank you, Jules, for making this possible.
We are so proud to celebrate Jules in our tenth birthday year, and the incredible legacy she has left for our charity and the women we exist to serve.
