We rely on high-quality donations to fill the Smart Works wardrobes and stock our sales which help raise vital funds. We are harnessing the power of clothes to help transform the lives of unemployed women across the UK.

Our clients come to us after experiencing difficult living situations and often lack self-belief and resources to perform well in their job search. Whether it’s donating a pre-loved suit to our wardrobes or your favourite party dress to be sold at a sale, every piece will help play a part in another woman’s success story.

Items we can accept

Work-appropriate clothing

We actively welcome donations of pre-loved, high-quality workwear items, such as trousers, skirts, suits, dresses, shirts, and outerwear.

Shoes and bags

We are always in need of interview-appropriate shoes and bags for our clients as these items are the hardest to source.

Preloved items with resale value

We are happy to accept pieces that are not suitable for the workplace but could be resold at one of our fashion sales to raise vital funds for Smart Works.

Items we cannot accept

We can’t accept used or opened cosmetics, underwear or tights to ensure that we comply with health and safety regulations. 

Before you donate, please check that all your pieces are still in wearable condition and ready for their new lease of life.

How it works

01. Choose your items

When choosing, think about what you yourself would wear to work or an interview - or whether the item has resale value

02. Pack your items

Pack your items and fill out our clothing donation form so we know who to thank! Alternatively, email us at london@smartworks.org.uk.

03. Send or deliver your items

Box up your donations and send them to Smart Works via the post office or drop them off at your local centre.

Donations are welcome at all the London Centres between 10-4pm, Mon-Fri. If you’re a corporate supporter please contact partnerships@smartworks.org.uk to organise your delivery.

04. Spread the word

Spread the word to your friends, family and colleagues. You can also post about your donation on your social channels, tagging @smartworkscharity and using the #FashionasaForceforGood.

Business donations

If your business would like to make a stock donation to Smart Works please get in touch with our Partnerships team.
