Donate Clothes

We are delighted to be accepting donations safely at our Leeds centre.

Donations must be made in compliance with our COVID-secure process.
Please read and follow these instructions to donate clothing to us.

Many thanks for your patience and your continued support.

We value donations that are work-appropriate, in excellent or nearly new condition and ready to wear. We accept items that are interview-appropriate (smart) or work-appropriate (smart-casual).

We are urgently in need of the following items:

  • Work appropriate clothing in all sizes, particularly size 16 and above
  • Light knitwear/jumpers in all sizes
  • Flat black shoes (all sizes)
  • Handbags/smart backpacks (big enough for an A4 folder)
  • Size 18/20 black trousers

If you have other items that you wish to donate, we are kindly asking that you contact our Leeds team and we will be able to let you know if we are able to accept them at this time.

Please note, we do not accept the following: jeans, linens, trainers, heavily/visibly worn items, damaged/stained items, stilettos, low-quality/fast fashion items.

Corporate Clothing Drives

Many organisations run a clothing drive on behalf of Smart Works, which is an easy and fun way to secure a large number of clothing donations, and ensure that great quality clothing is put to the best possible use.

Alongside a clothing drive, we also suggest other fundraising activities as another way to support our centre. This could be donating a small amount of money per item donated, holding a clothing bring and buy sale with friends or colleagues, or inviting Smart Works to host a pop-up sale in your workplace, to raise money for our service and get some new pieces for your wardrobe.

For more information on how to organise a clothing drive please download the Leeds Clothing Drive pack or contact the Smart Works Leeds team.
