Coming to Smart Works

We welcome any unemployed woman in need of additional support.

Appointments are made on a referral basis, from the hundreds of referral organisations we work with across the UK. This could be the local Job Centre Plus, a Work Programme provider, or another organisation that supports women back into work. Our key referrers include St Mungo’s (homeless), Working Chance (ex-offenders), Peabody (Housing Association), Solace (women’s refuge), HM Prison Service, Drive Forward (care leavers) and the Prince’s Trust (young people).

It is vital that those women who most need our service are able to access it.  Therefore we do not take self-referrals from clients, but are happy to advise on how you may be able to get referred to Smart Works if you are unsure.

“Every single woman I have referred has undergone a process of transformation both in terms of her prospects and her self-belief.”

The appointment itself is booked over the phone, and just takes a few minutes.  We take care of the logistics and confirmations to make the process as smooth, simple and hassle free as possible.

We can often book appointments in at the very last minute – even on the day of interview.  We have dressed, trained and sent a client to interview and then seen her the next day for a Second Dressing to complete her work wardrobe. It is never too late to call.

Coming to Smart Works If you would like to book an appointment at Smart Works, or become a referral partner, please contact your local Smart Works or email and we will be able to help.

We are committed to offering our clients the individual support they need to get back into work.

If a client is not successful following her initial visit to Smart Works, if appropriate we can refer her to one of our partner organisations who can provide further support and advice to help prepare for sustainable employment.
