Smart Works Reading receives £14,500, thanks to the People’s Postcode Lottery
Smart Works Reading has received £14,500, thanks to players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The funding boost from People’s Postcode Trust will enable Smart Works Reading to continue to help women in Reading and the Thames Valley area get back into work. Smart Works offers all its clients an interview preparation service and a free style consultation – including a free, complete work outfit to take away, enabling women to head for an interview feeling confident in their own capabilities, and ready for work.
Over 95% of clients report that a visit to Smart Works significantly increased their confidence in succeeding at a job interview.
Sarah Burns, Smart Works Reading’s Chair, said: “This funding is a massive boost to Smart Works Reading, and will definitely help us to expand the number of clients we can help. In our first year of operations, Smart Works Reading has already helped over 300 women in the Reading area, and nearly 70% of those we’ve seen went on to get the job. We’re hoping to significantly increase those figures in 2017, and this grant will be a great help. On behalf of Smart Works Reading, I’d like to say a big thank you to all the players of People’s Postcode Lottery!”
