We have over 50 volunteers who play key roles in supporting us transform the lives of clients. Our service is volunteer led and relies on those who dedicate their time regularly.
We believe that it can be as rewarding for the volunteers as it is for the clients to be involved in an organisation that is promoting self-belief, confidence and positive encouragement to women.
There are five main volunteer roles at Smart Works. The majority of these occur during our working hours which are Monday-Friday (unless otherwise specified). Please note that as of July 2019 we are currently operating a waiting list for dressing and coaching volunteers, as we have received an influx of applications.
Help our clients find the right outfit for their interview. Key attributes include:
- an eye for style
- great people skills
- plenty of patience
Help clients prepare for their interview; focusing on their skills, confidence and personal presentation. Key attributes include:
- a background in HR or recruitment
- experience at a senior management level
- a coaching qualification
Supporting the staff team with ad hoc tasks. Key attributes include:
- excellent computer skills
- customer service skills
- marketing/general office skills
This role has potential for remote working, at the manager’s discretion.
Assist our head of wardrobe volunteer to keep our stockroom tidy. Duties include:
- sorting donations
- steaming clothes
- hanging stock
Help to co-ordinate fundraising activities. Duties include:
- assisting at fundraising events
- organising activities
- funding research
This role involves evening and weekend work.
