“It was absolutely incredible! Jane was super and I cannot thank her enough. I came away with an outfit that in a million years I would never have chosen yet I felt a million dollars when I wore it.”

We accept donations of all good-quality womenswear including workwear, partywear and casual wear. We also accept accessories including shoes, bags and scarves.

Clothing donations need to be high-quality and in nearly new condition in order to help our clients feel confident and empowered before their job interview.

Thanks to every donation each woman who walks through our doors knows that another woman cares about her and has invested in her future.

If you have a donation but you’re not sure,  we use the catch line, if it still looks great, please donate?

We sell donations that are not appropriate for our clients at our quarterly sustainable fashion sales to raise much needed funds for our centre.

We are currently in particular need of the following pieces:

Clothing in sizes 18+ Flat shoes Handbags Black blazers in sizes 6-8

Run a Clothing Drive

Many organisations run a clothing drive on behalf of Smart Works, which is an easy and fun way to secure a large number of clothing donations, and ensure that great quality clothing is put to the best possible use.

If this sounds like something you’d like to do download our clothing drive pack here.

Or you can get in touch with the team by emailing Reading@smartworks.org.uk and they will be able to help answer any questions you might have.
