There are a number of different roles for volunteers to consider. We’re currently only recruiting for Wardrobe (both Centres) and Community Engagement (both centres) Volunteers. Volunteer Stylist

Styling volunteers help our clients find the right clothes for their interview. To be a good styling volunteer you need an eye for style, great people skills and plenty of patience. The minimum commitment is one day per month. Candidates must identify as female, due to the nature of our services.

Wardrobe Volunteer

Wardrobe volunteers keep the whole system running smoothly by sorting, steaming and hanging our stock and making sure clothes are immaculately presented. You need to be highly organised, love clothes and have lots of energy. The minimum commitment is one day per month. Candidates must identify as female, due to the nature of our services.

Volunteer Coach

Employment Coach volunteers help our clients who are looking for work by supporting the development of their CV, covering letter and job search skills. They also coach clients in preparation for their interview by focusing on their skills, their confidence and their presentation. You will need a background in HR, recruitment or senior management to join this programme. The minimum commitment is one day per month.

Administration Volunteer

Administration volunteers help in the office by answering phones, greeting clients, inputting data, filing and helping with other office duties. You need excellent customer service skills and general office skills. The minimum commitment is two days per month. Candidates must identify as female, due to the nature of our services.

Community Engagement Champion

Engaging with referral partners and directly with the community is
essential to enable us to reach and support as many women as possible.
As a Community Engagement Champion, you will support in spreading the
word about Smart Works’ employment services by attending community
events such as job fairs, and networking with new and existing referral
partner organisations.

This role will report to Cara, our Engagement and Referral Outreach Lead. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to travel and will not be based in one of our Smart Works Greater Manchester Centres. Click here for more information and application details.

Corporate Volunteer
