About Us

Smart Works Leeds opened in November 2019.  We support women from a range of different backgrounds and age groups back into employment by providing coaching so they feel more confident and start believing in their own ability to succeed.  We also provide high-quality  interview-appropriate clothing, shoes and accessories (theirs to keep) to wear for their job interview, and high-quality work-appropriate clothing, shoes and accessories when they get the job.

I had an amazing experience at Smart Works. I know exactly what to do in the interview now and have lovely new clothes. My stylist went through lots of different clothes until we found my perfect outfit. The volunteers were so supportive and treated me like a professional.

It’s easy to make an appointment with us, find out how here.

The time our clients spend with us can be transformative.  We give women the confidence, the self-belief and the practical tools they require to succeed in securing a job and start a new chapter in their life.

We are proud to say we are a volunteer led organisation. We have a team of highly skilled, fully trained, professional volunteers. In addition all our stock is donated through professional women & organisations or comes direct from our retail partners including Hobbs, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Evans.

We are grateful to our trustees and staff for their hard work on behalf of Smart Works Leeds.

“I believe passionately in helping other women to succeed in their careers and so it is with great excitement that we are bringing Smart Works to Leeds. Whilst Leeds and Bradford have one of the youngest and fastest-growing labour markets in the UK, a factor in attracting Channel 4, there is a significant need to support women in this region who find it more challenging to enter the job market. With the support of this brilliant city and the talented people who live here, I am confident we will get off to a flying start here in Leeds.”
