Welcome to Smart Works Birmingham

Smart Works Birmingham opened in August 2016 and is based in Birmingham City Centre.  Whilst Birmingham continues to flourish as a city it still has high levels of female unemployment so there is great potential for us to help women back into work.  Please feel free to come and visit us.

How To Get Involved

How To Make An Appointment

During the Covid Pandemic any unemployed woman in the Birmingham area can still approach Smart Works Birmingham on the condition she has a confirmed job interview for a paid position or a year-long apprenticeship.

As we can’t see clients in person, we have adapted to provide a virtual service of a clothing package (sent by post) and interview coaching by phone or Zoom.  This is working really well and many women are still being successful at job interview using this service.

Appointments to Smart Works Birmingham are made by referral only.  We work with many referral agencies, including Jobcentre Plus, work programme providers and charities working to support women back into employment.  They refer women to us who need help with interview clothes and confidence-building in the run up to their interview.

Referring a woman to Smart Works Birmingham is done over the phone and only takes a few minutes.  We take care of the rest.

Smart Works Birmingham is open for appointments Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 am – 3 pm and Fridays 10 am – 2 pm.

Please note we usually require a day’s notice to book an appointment but we try to be as flexible as we can.
