Coming to Smart Works
We welcome any woman who needs our service and has a confirmed job interview in place.
Appointments must be made on behalf of our clients by one of the hundreds of referral organisations we work with across the UK. This could be the local Job Centre Plus, a Work Programme provider, or one of the numerous organisations that helps supports a women in her journey back to work. As an example, some of our key referrers include Centrepoint (homeless), Vision (ex-offenders), Solace (women’s refuge), Remploy (disabilities), Drive Forward (leaving care) and the Prince’s Trust (young people). It is vital to us that those women who most need our service are able to access it. We do not take self-referrals from clients, but we are happy to advise on how best to get to Smart Works if you are unsure.
“Every single woman I have referred to Smart Works has undergone a process of transformation both in terms of her prospects and her self-belief.”JCP adviser
The appointment itself is simply booked in over the phone, and just takes a few minutes. We take care of all the logistics and confirmations to make the process as smooth, simple and hassle free as possible.
And we understand there is not much notice of interviews, and so can book appointments in at the very last minute – even on the day of interview. We have successfully dressed, trained and sent a client off to interview and then seen her back at Smart Works the next day for a celebratory Second Dressing session to complete her work wardrobe. This doesn’t faze us. In fact, we relish the challenge.
Coming to Smart Works If you would like to come to Smart Works for an appointment, or would like to become one of our referral partners, please contact your local Smart Works or email us and we will be able to help.
We are committed to offering all our clients the individual support they need to get back into work. If a client is not successful following her initial visit to Smart Works, if appropriate we can refer her on to one of our impressive partner organisations who can provide the focused support and advice to help prepare for sustainable employment.
Our partners include The Princes Trust, the CIPD Steps Ahead Program, The Samaritans and Remploy. These are organisations who share our values and deliver the best possible service for their clients. We are proud to be working in partnership with them and many others across London, and in time, would like to build this in our other areas of operation across the UK.
