All of our dressing and interview coaching is delivered by a team of highly skilled volunteers.
We believe that it can be as rewarding for the volunteers as it is for the clients to be involved in an organisation that is promoting self-belief, confidence and positive encouragement to women.
There are five main areas that we need volunteers to help at Smart Works:
Dressing volunteers help our clients find the right clothes for their interview. To be a good dressing volunteer you need an eye for style, great people skills and plenty of patience. The minimum commitment is two regular days a month.
Interview volunteers help clients prepare for their interview by focussing on their skills, their confidence and their personal presentation. You will need a background in HR, recruitment or senior management. The minimum commitment is two regular days a month.
Stockroom volunteers keep the whole system running smoothly by sorting, steaming and hanging our stock and making sure clothes are immaculately presented. You need to be highly organised and tidy, love clothes and have lots of energy. The minimum commitment is two days a month however as you are not seeing clients this can be different days depending on when you are needed.
Marketing/Administration volunteers play a key role in supporting both the Manager Smart Works in Marketing and Administrative activities and tasks such as general office duties, relationship building, artwork & promotion, presentations and “spreading the word”. You need excellent computer skills, customer service skills, and marketing and general office skills. The minimum commitment is 1 day a week (this can be flexible)
Smart Works Fundraising Volunteers will play a key role in helping the charity to meet its financial objectives of core running costs and growth. We are looking for two different skill sets for fundraising; (event’s organiser and trust applications) Our Smart Works Fundraising Volunteers will help fundraise in two distinct ways: Events Fundraiser or a Trust & Foundations Fundraiser. You will need some Fundraising experience, be a proactive, self-motivated & driven individual with good attention to detail excellent literary, commuter and communication skills. The minimum commitment is 1 day a week (this can be flexible).
“I have to say I was coming not really knowing what to expect, but once there I was amazed by what you are offering the women you help and by the truly professional way your organisation is run.”
