International Women’s Day 2016
Last week was a very important week at Smart Works HQ as we celebrated International Women’s Day with many of the people, organisations and brands that we most admire, trust and respect.
Bobbi Brown helped us launch the week with a new promotion offered in their stand alone stores, a make up lesson called Secrets to Confidence, with all proceeds coming straight to Smart Works. And much to the delight of clients and volunteers, a team of make-up artists set up camp in both London offices armed with their blushers and brushes for a professional make-over day. They also teamed up with The Detox Kitchen and created a juice, a delicious pink concoction which makes you feel #PrettyPowerful all day long, with 25p from each juice sold going to Smart Works.
On Tuesday we were welcomed by EY at their London Bridge and Canary Wharf sites to help promote several Clothing Drive events being run across London. EY have been fantastic supporters of Smart Works over several years, and their frequent donations of high quality, interview appropriate clothing is vital to the success of our London service.
A very special thank you must be made to OmniWomen for making us their charity partner at their 2016 Leadership Summit, held here in London on International Women’s Day itself.
Our CEO Kate Stephens was presented with a huge (literally) and incredibly generous donation of £20,000 along with a very successful clothing drive, all of which will support us in our Smart Works mission of reaching as many women across the UK as we possibly can.
A huge thank you to all the other brands and companies who lent their support and time to make it an unforgettable week including Disney, Hobbs, Women of the World, Style Magazine, The Oracle and Worldpay.
We couldn’t do what we do without you and it was a pleasure to celebrate IWD 2016 alongside you all.
