- How do I find Smart Works Edinburgh?
Smart Works Edinburgh is based in Meadowbank.
Our address is Studio 3.01, St Margaret’s House, 151 London Rd, Edinburgh EH7 6AE.
We are on the third floor of a large brick building with sign ART on top. The main entry is down two sets of stone steps from London Road.
The disabled entrance is via the car park which you enter from Restalrig Rd South. At the furthest end of the car park is a door with a bold sign ART over it.
St Margaret’s House has several frequent bus services which connect it with the city center, Waverley train station, the bus station and other parts of the city.

We are east of the Meadowbank Stadium on London Road and next to Meadowbank House. (Opposite Boots the chemist)
Ring the buzzer for the reception, then ask for Smart Works.
Take the lift to the third floor. Turn right out of the lift, continue through the double doors and Smart Works is on the immediate left.
Parking can be difficult in this area however, spaces may be available on the residential streets leading off London Road within close proximity to St Margaret’s House.

- What is the referral criteria?
If your client is an unemployed woman on low incomes with a confirmed job interview then you can refer her to Smart Works. We help women prepare for interviews for paid jobs, apprenticeships, work placements, unpaid roles and informal interviews. We do not dress clients for family events, business launches or college interviews.
- Do you dress male clients as well?
No, we do not. If you would like to refer male clients for interview dressing and preparation, please contact Grass Roots Clothing on 0131 629 9858.
- Where do I deliver donations?
Please deliver your donations to our office in Studio 3.01, St Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, EH7 6AE. Our office is open Monday – Friday 9:30 am – 5 pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
Please give us a call before your visit to ensure there is someone available to take a delivery.
- Can clients call you directly to refer themselves for your service?
We do recognise that our clients sometimes are given very short notice and they might not have enough time to be referred via their employment advisor. If this is the case and the client meets our criteria, we do encourage clients to call us directly to book an appointment but we will require them to present a proof of their interview.
- How do I book in for a second dressing appointment?
If you are a Smart Works client and have been successful in securing a job, you are welcome to come for a second dressing where we will provide you with additional clothing for your new role. The second dressing appointment will take about an hour. To book an appointment please call our office on 0131 516 7787.
