We are hiring!
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Manager (Maternity cover) to become the pioneering member of staff at Smart Works Birmingham for one year.
As the only full-time member of staff, the role will require a self-starting and proactive approach, excellent organisational skills and the ability to take sole responsibility of all aspects of management of our Birmingham centre.
The right candidate will be able to build strong working relations with our Chair and Board of Trustees, as well as staff of Smart Works HQ. There will be a lot of interaction with a diverse group including clients, referral partners (for example Jobcentre Plus and Work Programme Providers), corporate and retail audiences, and our dedicated team of skilled volunteers, as well as managing our office apprentice. A highly organised and positive individual, you will be passionate about empowering women to thrive in work and life. You will be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, be able to multi-task, think on your feet and bring a determination to meet our aim of helping as many women as we can back into work. You will be confident in using IT to manage operations and produce reports for funders, trustees and Smart Works HQ. Overall you would relish the opportunity of working in a small and newly established charity and all the challenges that it will entail.
The role is primarily based at Smart Works Birmingham in Northfield, South Birmingham, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with some evening and weekend work at fundraising events and meetings.
Smart Works Birmingham is part of Smart Works Charity, and there will be some travel to London and liaison with the HQ team to support on induction, training and participation in regular meetings, phone calls and conferences with other Smart Works centres across the UK.
